Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One is out on 18th October, but members of the EU Playstation Plus can download an exclusive open Beta to try out the 4 player co-op first. Recent releases have shown that a beta phase can be the difference between glitchy gaming and smooth sailing.
We can confirm today what we didn't know a few months back - Resistance 3's online co-op mode will require a Online Pass in order to function. An online pass is a one time use code included with new copies of the game. Because of this, the two player online co-op mode won't be functional to gamers who buy Resistance 3 pre-owned or rent it from online services like Gamefly. The game's split-screen co-op mode is unaffected by this.
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is coming out this October. To celebrate we offer a festive new video featuring Frank West as he tries out one of the new combo weapons. It's called the "Pegasus," and just like any decapitated plush unicorn, it positively radiates grace and majesty. It appears to be a child's toy with some fireworks duct taped to it. If you purchased Dead Island on Steam you may have noticed some things weren't working as expected. You may have just spontaneously walked through walls, found connecting to co-op sessions near impossible, or perhaps even lost your entire inventory. There's a good reason for this - the version that released on Steam was a developer debug build.
A few months ago we brought you news of Sony's new fangled technology that would allow two different gamers to view two full, separate images on the same screen. It uses 3D glasses and wizards and stuff. That's actually an image (below) of the working product which we saw at E3. Not to be out done, Microsoft has jumped into the magical split screen market.
