This little trailer for Rayman Origins may be short on gameplay footage, but it's a nice little glimpse of things to come. In what amounts to an animated musical short, we can see some of the cast of characters at work and play. And by "work and play," I mean sleeping.
Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale was something of a letdown for many action-RPG fans. Apparently it was a sales letdown too. Joystiq reports that the game’s developer, Bedlam Games is shutting down and has already let 90% of its staff go. Typically, when a studio closes its doors, most of the staff gets laid off while a few stay to tie off legal loose ends.
Fable fans who aren’t excited for upcoming Kinect game Fable: The Journey will have a while to wait for the next true Fable game. According to the October 2011 issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, Fable IV is rumored to be coming in 2013.
Shoot Many Robots is a four player online co-op romp coming to the XBLA, PSN, and PC. Ubisoft just announced that they'll be doing all of the heavy lifting on the publishing front. The latest video introduces us to the cast of murderous robot monsters. Players will take control of P. Walter Tugnut and, well, three other P. Walter Tugnuts. Luckily, there will be plenty of stat-changing gear (like tutus) you can slap on your character to make him stand out from the rest. For more information check out our hands-on preview. Welcome to backlog week! Sit back, relax, and catch up on some old co-op games before the crushing wave of Fall releases obliterates what's left of your wallet and self control. Speaking of self control, check out Mr. Deus Ex up there. Just looking at that picture makes me realize how horrible it would be to have cybernetic arms. "Yep, just chill'n on the couch with a cigarette, a scotch, some Skinimax, and my ice-cold metal hands. Guess I'll go punch something."
Beat Hazard is finding its way to the PlayStation 3 this September - a game that has already seen release on the Xbox 360 and PC. The twin stick shooter utilizes your music library to generate enemies, bosses and effects as well as govern how you power-up and play. It's a truly unique and colorful experience and one of my favorite games to pass time with on Steam.
Heroes of Ruin for the Nintendo 3DS looks to give Action/RPG fans a run for their money. The portable title features full drop-in and drop-out play through the entire game as players can create characters from one of four different classes - the Gunslinger, the Savage, the Alchitect and the Vindicator. Each class will have their strengths and weaknesses so cooperative play will yield the strongest team in the game's four player co-op story.
The news that a Silent Hill co-op game was coming exclusively to PlayStation Vita came as a surprise, but the fact it would be a top down shooter, and not survival horror, left Co-Optimus befuddled. Don't believe us? Check out the brand new trailer, which includes in game footage.
It's been sometime, but we're back this month with another official Xbox 360 Co-Op Night. The game de mois is Brink with its 8 player online co-op gameplay. Hopefully you fine folks remembered to snag the free Agents of Change DLC before it went premium last week, as we plan on hitting that up as well.
September will be keeping a lot of us busy with its crazy amount of releases, but let's not neglect to check out the new DLC for for some great co-op games that will be releasing that month as well. Shogun 2: Total War will be receiving a new piece of DLC (Rise of the Samurai), and it sounds to be pretty hefty. It will introduce a whole new campaign set 400 years before the events of Shogun 2, focusing on the feud between the six clans of the Taira, Fujiwara, and Minamota families. The DLC will provide players with 6 new clans to play complete with 4 new hero units, 4 new agent units, 16 new land units, and 10 new naval units. An example of one of the new hero units, the Onna Bushi Heroine, is pictured above.
Portal 2 gives FPS/puzzle fans plenty to do, but it’s understandable that many players are hungry for new content by now. Thankfully the first downloadable content is not far off. I’m talking September!
Blizzard can’t seem to make up its mind about whether Diablo III is coming to consoles. First they say they have no plans, and millions of console gamer weep. Now all of a sudden they are “‘very, very serious’ about Diablo for consoles,” according to Kotaku.
