This week, our heroic podcast crew tackles the most controversial topic on any gaming site: The Game of the Year Awards! Luckily for us, we escape with only a few scratches, as the Community picks are announced as well. Even our old pal 50 Cent manages to come away with one of our coveted awards! With a load of new game announcements from the VGAs and a long digression of Assassin's Creed 2, you can expect a meaty podcast of epic proportions. *NOTE* The Game of the Year content is a podcast exclusive until the evening of 12/16/2009
It's another exciting episode of the Co-Opticast! We're rapidly approaching 2010 as Nick and Mike take a quick breath to look at 2009 spouting all the wonderful titles they've been playing. News is of course on the agenda, with a few items that may pique your interest. Finally they discuss the eternal question in co-op - Do more players make a better experience? Find out all this and more as Mike and Nick save Christmas during Episode 32 of the Co-Opticast.
Our list of games played reads like the top 10 games of the year. Mike and Nick are dominated by titles like Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3: ODST, Dragon Age Origins, and more. Really, it's quite amazing we had time to do a podcast about games. But we did, and we bring you plenty of co-op news, commentary and a review of Modern Warfare 2.
The big 30 for the Co-Opticast, and what do we have? A jam packed 50 minute episode with dozens of co-op news stories, a Borderlands review, and lots of other goodies that'll tickle that special spot. In fact, by my count we cover over 25 different games in this episode. Sit down, buckle up, and get ready to be Co-Opticasted. *Special Music interludes excerpts from DJ Hero
In this week's installment of The Co-Opticast, we run a fine-tooth comb over the latest and greatest co-op news, and pass the savings on to you. Listen as Mike and Nick discuss what games we prefer to play online or splitscreen, tell Infinity Ward to put up or shut up when it comes to smack-talking Treyarch's co-op modes and a surprising number of playable characters in a game we previously hadn't covered are revealed, all in a nice, tight 29-minute package.
Nick and Mike are back for another solid episode of the Co-Opticast. There's plenty of controversial news on the table to chat about, including digital distribution and Activision's corporate policies. We look at a packed fall release schedule, talk about aggressive gaming, and the lack thereof in co-op. All this and more can be yours if the price is right. Don't worry, it's still free to download.
In this episode, the post-PAX malaise has lifted and we resume your regularly-scheduled podcast. Mike and Nick explore this week's news, call out net-based game streaming services, spout random game knowledge and yes, Nick got to play ODST. With proper restraint, his 5-minute review lasted a mere nine minutes! All this and more await you when you click the fabled "Listen Now" link!
This my friends, is a jam packed episode full of so many game impressions I can't list them all here. Every co-op game we got our grubby little hands on during PAX 2009 is discussed! Not only that but Jim, Jason, Nick and Kat discuss some of the finer points of the show and there's even a special guest appearance by a certain Left 4 Dead character. Freaky!
It's been hot in these late summer days at the Co-Optimus HQ, so join us as we take a dip in the local turtle aquarium and discuss the past 14 days' worth of co-op news. We discuss this fall's upcoming releases, Nick lets us know just what's up with the co-op in Madden NFL '10 and a special 'guest' tells you what you need to do once you've listened.
It's a big episode - Episode 25. I believe this graduates us from amateur to "guys who sorta know what they are doing." The latest episode has Nick and Mike discussing the biggest co-op news like a brand new Left 4 Dead Campaign and 50 Cent in Modern Warfare 2. The brand new TMNT: Turtles in Time is also discussed and all of it is wrapped up nicely in a classic PC vs. Console debate. What more could you ask for in 25 episodes?
It's a very special episode this week! Nick took a weekend trip and made the mistake of leaving Mike to his own devices, so Jim, Jason and Marc join him to discuss not only this week's news, but when we feel a game requires co-op!
The title may be deceiving, but we do talk a bit about some laptop, or pc, or something. It slips my mind to tell you the truth. Mike and Nick hit up the latest co-op news, including the announcement of a new cooperative MechWarrior title! Trine is reviewed, and we talk about games to play with your wife or non gaming significant other!
Co-Opticast Episode 22: Buy Trine Believe it or not, this episode title is not a paid advertisement. Neither is the podcast. But for as much as we talk about the Trine demo and our enjoyment of it - well you might think Frozen Byte is kicking us a little something. Mike and Nick dash at the latest co-op news, give impressions of Halo 3: ODST and a short review of Gunstar Heroes for the Xbox Live Arcade. Finally there's a bit of demo discussion, and how a proper demo can be used to sell a game...like say...Trine.
The Co-Opticast can legally drink this week, and the lack of campaign co-op in Ghostbusters might just drive us to doing so! Speaking of that, Mike rants at great length about misplaced resources and Nick chimes in with his hands-on impressions of Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Mix in a liberal amount of co-op news and you've got our latest episode.
What? Wo wo wo wo wo! Two podcasts in a week? That's right folks - Mike, Kat, and Nick return to give their impressions on the biggest week of gaming new this year. The Co-Opticrew breaks down the big three press conferences and gives you the co-op gaming highlights from each. They also touch on some of the bigger co-op gaming announcements from 3rd parties. They did all of that out of the kindness of their hearts. Awwww.
