It's already a well established rumor that this year's Batman: Arkham City would feature cooperative gameplay, previously thought to be with Cat Woman. But the latest trailer for the game, leaked on a French video site, seems to indicate there will be more than one co-op partner for the caped crusader. Who that is though, is a bit of a surprise, as its the prime villain from the first game in Joker.
Rocksteady continues to tease co-op fans everywhere as they hold Batman: Arkham City close to their chest. It appears that not only are Jokers wild, but Twos are as well - co-op has been all but confirmed by the UK Official PlayStation Magazine's latest preview. Either Rocksteady is bluffing, or they're going all in on this hand.
According to the Escapist, the latest issue of PSM3 contains a Batman: Arkham City feature that says "multiplayer is a certainty, but no details on this yet." As we mentioned after the Game Informer cover reveal for the game showcased Batman and Catwoman, we hoped to see some form of co-op in this game.
Conjecture and rumor are the bread and butter of gaming news, but they are often based on hidden truths. Therefore, when Computer and Video Games get excited about Batman: Arkham City being a co-op game you should take note. CVG base their thoughts on the cover designs of this month's Gameinformer Magazine, on which we see the Bat and the Cat together in less than perfect harmony. With Two Face and Mr Freeze already appearing in the game, this could leave Catwoman as a dubious ally. The relationship between the two characters has always been a strained one; enemies today, lovers the next. There is a distinct possibility that Batman would fight alongside her.
