Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game is a spinoff of the Mudrunner and Snowrunner series from Focus Entertainment. This one launched as a single-player game, but online co-op was always a promised feature. That promise has come to pass in the latest update for the Steam version, adding 4-player online co-op. PC players can now explore mountains, forests, and other exotic locales together as a driving team.
Official co-op update details:
Whether you're returning to the wilds or plunging in for the very first time, you can now experience Expeditions together with other players. Share information and conduct scientific research wheel-to-wheel in this all-new cooperative mode. More than just a teammate, become the hero in tricky situations by sharing your fuel or offering repair elements to your team. Stick together, be adventurous, and you can overcome any obstacle with each other!
In co-op mode, players can:
- complete any activities together
- expeditions
- contracts
- tasks
- switch between each other's vehicles
- exchange resources
- receive joint rewards (upgrades, money)
- track each other's routes on the map
- use the quick chat system to send signals to each other to convey information.
That sounds pretty fun. Console and Epic gamers will have to wait a bit longer for the co-op update, but it's still coming. Future updates are planned that will add more content, some of which will be sold as premium DLC. Players can get the Year 1 Pass to lock in the whole year's worth of DLC in advance.
Expeditions: A MudRunner Game sells for $39.99 on Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch, and for $39.99 on Steam and Epic.
