For a lot of folks, next week marks a return to school. With summer ending PAX Prime is upon us. It all kicks off next Friday. Sadly none of the staff will be making it this year. To try to make ourselves forget about such a travesty, we'll be knee deep in games, booze, and Master Chief dolls. It's a cold and lonely feeling, but at least Scott Pilgrim still loves us. Today we have a trailer for The First Templar, and upcoming action game for the Xbox 360 and PC which features two player co-op both locally or online. The story of The First Templar follows the finding and then loss of the Holy Grail.
Rockstar Games have released details of the next piece of DLC for Red Dead Redemption. The new pack, titled Liars and Cheats, focuses on the game's free roam mode and adds in something we asked for during our review - the ability to play the mini games with friends. In addition there will be seven new gang hideouts to clear with your posse as well as new weapons and multiplayer horse races.
The first of many benefits of the discontinuing of the original Xbox Live will be realized this fall when the Xbox 360 voice chat capabilities get upgraded with a higher quality codec allowing better and more understandable voice communication. The current codec being used was put in place in 2002 when the original Xbox Live launched - at the time - broadband wasn't nearly as fast as it was today.
Big news from Harmonix today: the complete set list for Rock Band 3 has been revealed! It's an excellent mix of tunes across five decades, and with the addition of keyboards, there's a bit more pop included. Don't worry, though, there's still plenty of rock and roll. For This Week in Co-op, Mike and Tally played free MMO Mabinogi. Oh yes, foxes were upper-cut, bugs were found, and amazingly inane cutscenes were witnessed. Yup, standard free Asian MMO written all over this one.
Are you ready for some football? Madden is back this year with a whole bunch of new gameplay systems to bring you closer to the gridiron. Among those is a three player co-op mode called online Teamplay. Is this year's Madden the best ever, or are we going to have to punt and wait for next year?

If you're going to PAX this year, you'll have a chance to stop by the Hoard booth, where you can experience four-player co-op firebreathing. Confirmed by developer Big Sandwich, co-op will be a separate mode, and can be played with four players in any combination of online or local.
