We last looked at Monaco: What's Your's is Mine shortly after it won an award at the Independent Games Festival.   The game is a four player co-op crime caper title where players pick different classes of criminals and try to work together to steal some precious goods.  Monaco has come a long way on its road to getting a full release, that includes revamped graphics, new character classes and tons of other tweaks.  So it was time for developer Pocketwatch Games to show it to the unwashed masses.  PAX seemed like a good place to do this, but one problem for the one man studio - it's quite the investment.  Thankfully that's where another Indie developer stepped in.

UFO Interactive have just sent a fresh batch of zombie face melting screens and trailers for the other rhythm game coming this fall for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.  Rock of the Dead  features two player co-op in a on rails shooter meets Guitar Hero style game that's all about quick reflexes as much as it is about campy fun.  There's even a celebrity voice cast of Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and Rob Zombie.  The game is out this fall - if you missed our E3 preview, you should check it out.

You may remember earlier this year Tally looked at a little game called Dungeon Defense by a company called Trendy Entertainment.  It was a game that mashed RPG elements into the tower defense genre and was developed in only 4 weeks using the Unreal Engine Development Kit.  Today a new version of the game is being announced called Dungeon Defenders - it will be a full digitally distributed title with four player co-op.

Ever since Halo 2, Microsoft marketing for the Halo universe has been one of human relation and emotion.  For a sci-fi game that's largely about huge battles between cyborg  like men and aliens with green blood, there's very little human element directly on display in the titles.  Yet, the I Love Bees ad campaign from Halo 2 and the Museum campaign from Halo 3 are amongst the most memorable ads for video games by the emotional response they invoke.

Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days may have just arrived on store shelves, but since it was pretty short by most folks' standards, players might be looking for a bit more.  Lo and behold, just over the horizon, "more" is on the way.  A DLC pack will be available for all versions of the game.  On August 31, PC, 360, and PS3 gamers will be able to get their mitts on three seperate bundles: Multiplayer Mask Pack, Alliance Weapon Pack and Doggie Bag Pack.  Each will bring "more tools of the trade and all-new hesit locations".

I must apologize for the rather misleading title.  While Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter is indeed coming to Xbox Live Arcade on the 22nd of next month, using the phrase "headed" was probably a poor choice.  Why?  Well, because of the headless, yet still screaming bomb-carrying berserkers, that's why!  They aren't really "headed" anywhere, are they?

Rockstar is letting us know that there is very little redemption in Red Dead Redemption as far as cheating is concerned. Tomorrow (Aug. 24th), the developer will be banning any and all Xbox 360 gamertags and Playstation Network IDs found with hacked game saves. 

It's an (almost) all-news episode, since Nick and Mike have to wrap up both Gamescom AND Quakecon, as well as discuss Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (yay) and Kane & Lynch 2 (not so yay). Those rascally Patapons make several guest appearances throughout the podcast. Mike also manages to screw up a news story about Brink preorder bonuses, but it's tough keeping track of such things while being attacked by adorable shadow tribesmen. It’s been a long-running battle of fans based on a lot of nonsense and personal preference, but how do you choose which system to buy a game on? Content available? Support? Online connectivity? Or are you one that consults all of your friends before coming to a decision on which system to use?

Bethesda and Splash Damage have just released the third (Episode 1 | Episode 2) developer diary for Brink.  The focus is on the lines being blurred between a single player story based game and a cooperative and multiplayer game.  We're told Splash Damage wanted to convey the pacing and story elements of a single player game but extend that to all of Brinks game modes seamlessly.

It was February of this year that we told you that Halo Reach would have full matchmaking support in both Firefight and the co-op campaign.  At the time it was (obviously) unconfirmed.  Now we have official confirmation straight from Bungie's website of what we all hoped for.  A lot of folks missed it due to it being a short and to the point answer in an otherwise giant wall of text.

If you read our site via RSS you may have noticed a sudden influx of co-op game additions to our database.  I know that's not something everyone wants to see - and I'm sorry about that - but we had a backlog of quite a few co-op games that needed to be added to the database and finally got a man on the job after slacking for months.  We get dozens of tips on co-op games a week and we are careful with researching and adding submissions to ensure it's a true co-op experience.
