After hearing about Muse Games' co-op only mode for their airship battling game, now titled Guns of Icarus Alliance, for almost two years, it looks like it might finally be getting close to release. Everyone will get a chance to check it out in just a couple weeks during an Open Alpha event.
With the big announcement that a fourth game is coming to the Xbox One and PC this holiday season, it seems only appropriate that the first two games would somehow find their way onto the current gen of consoles. First leaked over the weekend thanks to some PS4 trophy listings, Capcom released a statement to Eurogamer.com that Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will all be coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
I've been spending a lot of time playing Total War: WARHAMMER these past few days. I have fond memories of the tabletop version back when I was in high school and, for me, Creative Assembly has done an excellent job of translating that into a video game that captures many of its ideas and mechanics. While not all of the playable races/factions may be present, CA has plans to add at least one more, the Beastmen, very soon.
We knew that more expansions for LEGO Dimensions would be coming this fall, including a new "story pack" expansion based on the 2016 Ghostbusters movie. Thanks to a Twitter user snapping a quick picture from an Argos (a UK digital retailer) catalogue, we now also know that the title will be getting a "story pack" based on the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie.
Microsoft has revealed a nice little bundle for all you Gears fans out there with a limited edition Xbox One S that will come with the latest installment in the franchise, Gears of War 4. Along with that, there's a specially designed controller that's based on the armor of new protagonist, J.D. Fenix.
It's been a while since we last had the opportunity to cover ourselves in the gooey bits of giant, extraterrestrial insectoids, but that doesn't mean we haven't been craving it all the same. Luckily for us, we have a brand new reason to venture forth onto the streets in search of alien bug gut showers (which is coincidentally the name of my new sci-fi punk band). Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair has made its way onto the PC and brings with it all the four player online co-op your body can handle.
A free update is arriving this week for Star Wars Battlefront that will expand upon its co-op offerings. On Thursday, a new "Skirmish Mode" will be added to the title that will allow players to test their skills against A.I. bots solo or with a local buddy.
The interestingly titled Fishcow Studio is aiming to bring a new take on the classic Golden Axe with their latest title, Moonfall. Set in a "dark industrial gothic world," players will be thrust into the midst of a war between an empire and the world's natives.
G'day, folks. Another scorching hot summer weekend is on deck, but that probably won't stop the droves of Pokemon Go players from swarming every landmark in a ten mile radius of their homes. Honestly, can you blame them? What's a little sun poisoning when you're given the opportunity to catch an "actual" Pokemon and give it an embarrassing nickname?
While Sony and Microsoft are trying to one-up one another with the "2.0 versions" of their consoles, Nintendo has decided to go retro. A $60 version of their original NES console, dubbed the "Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition," will arrive this November with 30 original titles, including a fair number of co-op classics.
Us brainy bipeds are strange creatures. Put us in front of a door and we'll open it. Stick some buttons on a wall and we'll press them. Put a 2x4 holding a train cart and we'll remove it and watch it crash through the wall. We're a mischievous sort, and that sense of reckless playfulness is exactly what Human: Fall Flat is trying to capture.
The action/tower defense game Protect Me Knight is back with a sequel! Only it's not called Protect Me Knight 2, it's called Gotta Protectors, which sounds much more, I don't know, active? Either way, the sugary sweet retro game will be ready to grace the Nintendo 3DS eShop on July 21.
