Our Weekend in Gaming - Dying Light Edition
Dying Light looks like a good game to occupy our time. When zombies aren't on the horizon there's plenty of others to fill the void.

Some serious sales going on this weekend at that little service called Steam. So many games, such large discount numbers, it's kind of overwhelming. The massive Square-Enix publishing catalogue is available for as much as 85% off, but there are a couple of outliers with co-op that warrant some attention, too.
Nothing says co-op like being tied to your partner with an air hose. Shiftlings by Rock Pocket Games is a puzzle game that's on its way to consoles and PC this spring. The general idea is that you're bound to your buddy by an umbilicus that allows the two of you to pass gas back and forth. Giggle a bit, then read on to learn why that's awesome.
A slew of new characters hits Disney Infinity 2.0 this week, both of the physical and digital type. If you're a Disney Infinity player, more than likely at least one of the seven characters released this week will tickle your fancy.
A little bit of co-op wild west role playing is front and center in the new Indie Royale games bundle. Boot Hill Heroes takes the traditional RPG formula and adds cooperative battles that are every bit as exciting as fighting raccoons and clowns in real life. Cheaper, too!
Believe the hype! Not just to build up buzz and excitement for upcoming Payday 2 updates, but for the "Hype Train" event where players can help to support Overkill's development of the game for awesome rewards.
Earlier today, developer Fatshark Games released a teaser trailer for their upcoming 4 player co-op FPS, Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide. Due out in the second half of 2015, it is said to be a mix of Left 4 Dead-style missions with loot-based mechanics popularized by games like Borderlands. Never mind that, though. How about you take a look at this here teaser trailer and shudder at the thought of living in a city besieged by Skaven:
The definitive edition of our 2014 AAA Game of the Year lurks on the horizon, as Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin readies for its April 7th North American launch date. Plunking down your hard earned cash for a game (and potentially DLC) you've already purchased might leave you a little bit sour, but some may its find worth it to relive the sweet, sweet pain on current gen consoles.
Hey, you, person skulking in the shadows even though it's the middle of the day. Wanna buy some stuff? Some evil stuff? Some resident evil stuff? Capcom certainly wants you to, assuming you live in North America and own a PlayStation 3.
Ah, Nathan Drake. Explorer. Survivalist. Purveyor of witty comebacks. We thought that you were gone from our lives when we packed away our PS3s, or at least until Uncharted 4 comes out. Like the Phoenix, though, you arise and return to our lives once more with the addition of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves to Playstation Now's library!
Remember when your parents were all like "Don't play with your food?" Ha, they were wrong, because that's exactly what you do in Yasai Ninja, an upcoming beat-em-up game from indie newcomer RECO Technology. Play as two vegetable warriors as they run across the land, doing exactly what vegetables normally do: hit stuff with weapons.
If you follow the mobile scene, it's a sure bet you heard about BADLAND. The game was released in early 2013 and walked away with handfuls of awards from handfuls of publications. A rudimentary local co-op mode was added to the Android, Windows Phone and iOS releases, but tiny screens and multiple players equals meh. That's why BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition is so friggin' exciting: it's coming to PC and consoles!
