New Trailer for Dark Souls - All Saints' Day

Here's the latest trailer from Dark Souls.  I can't really tell you anything about it.  I've decided to go on a media blackout since this is one of my most anticipated games of the year.  I don't want to spoil anything for myself. That means I'm not going to read or watch any of the coverage, including the trailers.  I'm just going to blindly post this, and hope it's not full of boobs.

New Trailer for The House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut Shows Off Some Sexy Zombie Skin

The House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut has zombie strippers, and here's the video to prove it.  These lovely ladies will no doubt be part of the all new "Naked Terror" campaign, where you and a friend will take control of Varla Guns and her friend, Candy.  You'll be battling through the Pink Pussycat, which I believe is some type of shelter for young ladies who have a clothing deficiency.  The video is pretty self explanatory.

A Look at Dungeon Siege 3's Prima Digital Strategy Guide

Dungeon Siege 3 is set to receive some DLC in the coming weeks, which means now is a good time as ever to head back into the kingdom of Ebb and wrap up some of those missing quests and find those rare items.  Recently Prima Games contacted me to see if I was interested in checking out their offerings in the realm of digital strategy guides.  In the day and age of the internet is something like this even still relevant?  Once you fire up one of the digital guides, it's easy to see the production values are signifcantly higher than what you'd find on YouTube or GameFAQs.

Co-Opticast Episode 74 - Stay a while, and listen!

In this week's episode, Mike and Nick channel their inner Deckard Cain and talk an awful lot about the Diablo 3 beta. Yes, we're addicted. The surprise return of the Jane's series to gaming is discussed as well as a little bit of Gears 3. All that, plus this week's co-op news and the usual dose of self-congratulatory promotion is in store for you, gentle listeners.

Lionsgate Picks Up Film Rights to Dead Island, Fan Film Stays True to Source

Dead Island is getting a movie.  Or more accurately: the Dead Island trailer is getting a movie.  If you've seen it, you know why.  If you haven't, allow me to welcome you to the internet.  It's scary in here.  This will help.  In a recent press release, Lionsgate (yeah, that one) announced they had acquired the film rights to develop a movie based on the Dead Island IP.  The release went on to tout the greatness of the trailer:

PlayStation Network Getting Resident Evil 5 Complete Package Next Week

This two-player, local and online co-op game just doesn't seem to stay down for long: starting October 4th (next Tuesday), the Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition will appear on the PlayStation Network as an on-demand title. I can't see this really being top news, though, because everyone has played and loved this game by now. Right? Anyone?

New Video for Inversion Distinguishes Game From Other Third Person Shooters

There's been a plenty of gimmicky third person shooters.  Some games let you change the terrain, others use psychic powers to varying degrees of success.  Inversion has a gimmick, but it appears to have a little substance to its style.  Well, at least the gimmick seems to be fully realized, which might be enough to separate it from the late winter fodder.  This latest video introduces us to some of the gravity related combat features of Inversion.  We've seen some of these before, but hey, they look nice.  As an added bonus, the melee combat looks brutal and bloody.  Gravity assisted body slams are always a good thing, right?

Dark Souls doesn't want you voice chat communicating at all

Want to Voice Chat in Dark Souls? Not Happening

Did you perhaps pre-order Dark Souls on the 360 thinking "ahah, now I can use the XBL party interface to chat with my friends as we're getting slaughtered in co-op together!"? Well, From Software has apparently anticipated your completely unreasonable desire for human contact as you rage and/or whimper your way through the game. Not only is voice chat unsupported within the game, but if you even try to start a Party Chat session through the XBL Party interface, Dark Souls will kick you out of your game right back to the start menu. It will reprimand you with the message: "Cannot continue game while you are in party chat. Returning to title screen..." So there you have it. You get the comfort of your friends' avatars at your side, and that's about it. Skype, anyone?
