Section 8: Prejudice Drops on 4/20

Section 8: Prejudice has adopted an ambitious pricing and distribution strategy.  The preceding title, Section 8, was a full priced retail game that received postitive reviews and little player support.  Producer/developer TimeGate Studios decided to make the sequel more competitive by releasing it as a downloadable title and pricing it at $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft Points.  The studio claims Section 8: Prejudice will be a fully-featured game.

Nation Red Update Adds 4 Player Co-Op, Additional Achievements

Indie PC twin stick shooter, Nation Red, has just received an update via Steam.  The update adds an additional two players in co-op, bringing the total available to 4, as well as a host of other tweaks and balances.  Along with it comes improved multiplayer support for Steam lobbies, friends list, and server browsing - making it that much easier to find co-op games.  Of course...people need to actually be playing the game, something we had a hard time finding during our tests of the update.

New Dungeon Siege 3 Trailer Focuses On Lucas Montbarron

A new character vignette has been released for Dungeon Siege 3.  This latest video focuses on Lucas Montbaron, the sword and board character we covered in our hands-on preview.  Square Enix released a video revealing a new gun-toting character a few weeks ago.  It's a little surprising that this latest vid features Lucas, who was the first character announced for the game.  The vignette is nice enough, but we've known about Lucas for months now.  Hopefully we get some juicier information in the next short, like maybe the identity of the fourth character.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon Bestiary Hits PlayStation Blog

Last month we got some hands-on time with Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, and we're more than a little excited about this game.  Some of our West Coast editors are even a little jealous that they couldn't make it to PAX East to try the game out, but they've managed to quietly bottle their rage.  Jim Richardson, the Lead Game Designer from Vicious Cycle Software, recently posted a ton of enemy information over at PlayStation.Blog.  Check out the link to see what the Earth Defense Force is up against.  The bugs are back, and they've brought some friends with them.

Nintendo 3DS Review and Game Impressions

The Nintendo 3DS is here and Co-Optimus has the full review of the system and 4 of the launch titles. While, sadly, there's nothing on display in co-op...yet, there's a lot of stuff to talk about with the 3DS. Obviously 3D is first and foremost, but this little machine has more to offer than that.

Portal 2: Another Amazing Aperture Science Investment Opportunity

Cave Johnson is effing bringing it.  Recent promo videos for Portal 2 have consisted of awesome shorts focusing on Aperture Science's investment opportunities.  The latest video covers Aperture Science's Turrets. Mr. Johnson goes into great detail to explain just how a turret is loaded, and how they get the most bang out of each bullet.  If you haven't seen the videos on panels and robot trustworthiness, just click the preceding blue words and the magic internet tubes will take you to them.  Please, oh please, Mr. Cave Johnson, take my money.  Take all of it.  I don't need it anymore... hold on a second... For some reason I feel compelled to buy Farmer's Insurance.  Weird.

It has been a good week for comic book fans, especially those who have been following the excellent Green Lantern titles for the past few years.  Over the weekend, a new and improved trailer for the upcoming film was released, full of hundreds of alien space cops and showing war on a grand scale.  And now, there's hope that the inevitable movie tie-in game might be good, too.  Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is coming in early June, shortly before the theatriocal release.  In addition to the expected green lasers and flight power, gatling guns and the iconic hard-light fists will let Hal Jordan take down legions of androids with ease.
