Call of Duty: Black Ops Map Pack Coming to the PS3

How are you feeling, PlayStation 3 owners?  Are you doing well?  I know Call of Duty: Black Ops hasn't so much as called, written, or even texted since their last title update, all the way back in January.  February can be a long, cold month when you're all alone.  It's okay.  CoDBlOps still loves you.  It's just that Microsoft gave her more money, so she wanted to go hang out with him for awhile.  She'll be back.  It's not like she offered up exclusive access to new content... oh wait, she did.  Sorry.

This Week in Co-Op: The Apple Spawns Near to the Tree

I’ve been waiting a long time for this. A long time. Once a poor little rugrat occasionally denigrated to a cutesie photo op by her parents for entertainment’s sake, my daughter is several months from three years old and has accepted the fact that she is a gamer daddy’s little girl. As such, she is often subjected to the allure of colorful gamepads and the curious moving images they control on the TV whenever Dora and Boots aren’t busy looking for the Muddy Mountain. Alright, so maybe it's only been two years; but the anticipation has been no less. Finally, the time has come: let the experimentation with video games commence!

Ms. 'Splosion Man Goes Waka Waka With New Screens, Gameplay Video

Ms. 'Splosion Man, the sequel to Twisted Pixel's original exploding puzzle platformer, is coming later this year. The arcade purist in me loves the throwback title, and if the new trailer is any indication, the Ms. might top her predecessor, just like a certain red-bowed yellow gal did back in the day.  We have a small gallery of screens for you, but you've gotta check out the trailer to see actual gameplay.  It's worth a look if for nothing else than hearing Ms. Splosion Man's quips.  How many pop culture references can you pick out?

The Gunstringer Screens, Trailer All Strung Up For You

The first title for Kinect by Twisted Pixel (the geniuses responsible for 'Splosion Man), The Gunstringer is showing off some of its charm in a very entertaining demo trailer and with screenshots of a mighty wacky wavy inflatable arm flailing tube man. I'm really enjoying what I'm seeing from the unconventional trailer that the brilliant minds of Twisted Pixel have put together to bring The Gunstringer to life, as well as the limited number of screenshots we've seen so far.

New Video for Microsoft's Single Screen, Dual Image Concept

We brought you news of Sony's new Dual View 3D technology a few days ago.  It was recently on display, showing off footage of Killzone 3.  What is interesting about the Dual View 3D tech is the potential to have two different images on screen for two different viewers.  A recent video from Microsoft Research Applied Sciences Division show the same effect using different technology.  This time no glasses are needed.  Using an experimental item called a "wedge" lens, the video shows how holographic images can be viewed without the need of glasses.  They actually use a Kinect camera to track different users, so the image is "aimed" at the appropriate viewer no matter where they move.  The video is pretty dry, but very informative.  Around the five minute mark things get very interesting.  The tech looks like it is still in its early stages.  Check it out and let us know what you think.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Title Update May Affect Known Zombie Exploits

Nooo! Not my exploits!  How else will I handle "Five" if I can't dive jump onto that rail by the steps, enabling me to stand in the center of the map, safe from zombie harm? Oh wait.  I never did that.  Because I'm not a filthy, dirty, no good cheater.  Okay, okay, you got me.  I never did that because I could never really get the move right. For those of you who could, kudos to you!  I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted, because it is probably gone now.  Call of Duty: Black Ops Title Update 7 should have gone into effect yesterday.  Read on to see what else has been modified, tweaked, changed, or obliterated.  I should note, this is for the Xbox 360 only.  The PS3 version should be betting its own regular update soon.
