Tales from Space: About a Blob Co-Op Review

As you play Tales from Space: About a Blob, the blob gets filled with a crazy assortment of things, and this is a good description of the game itself. It uses many different ideas, and manages to combine them together fairly well, but there's something slightly messy about it at the same time.

Original Left 4 Dead Movie Poster Concepts

Left 4 Dead did a lot of things very right. One of those things is creating a campaign of movie posters to represent each scenario the four survivors, Zoey, Bill, Frances and Lewis had to endure. The movie posters were also applied to DLC that came later, and the sequel - Left 4 Dead 2. Some of the original concept posters have surfaced for the original survivors, and some of the art or situations may look familiar.

Sony's New Tech Can Change Local Multiplayer Gaming

We covered Sony's patent for shared-screen stereoscopic 3D gaming last summer.  Sony execs put on a demonstration recently showing the Dual View 3D mode in Killzone 3.  In normal 3D viewing, two similar images are shown on screen, and 3D glasses produce the depth effect.  In Dual View 3D mode, two entirely different images are on screen.  What you see is dependent on your position to the television or monitor.  So player one will have one full screen display, and player two will have their own individual display as well.

Transformers Movie Tie In Hints At Co-Op

For the third year in a row, fans of giant robots who change into cool vehicles will be getting a Transformers-based video game.  Summer 2011 brings the third Transformers film, Dark of the Moon, to theaters, and of course there is the obligatory game tie-in with it.  The past two movie games were horrid and average, respectively, and we are hopeful that the trend at improvement will continue.  What makes us so hopeful?  First of all, the game is being developed by High Moon Studios, who did a bang-up job on War for Cybertron last summer.  You may recall that in addition to a highly regarded online vs. component, online campaign co-op for three robots and a five-player survival mode called Escalation were included.
