It looks like somebody got Dead Rising in their Twisted Metal.  Activision has announced a new zombie infested vehicular combat game.  According to a recent press release, Blood Drive promises:

Dead Rising 2 Case Zero came out a few weeks ago for 400 exclusively to the Xbox 360. Case Zero was presented as a sort of extended demo, prequel of the game where you get to keep your stats for the full game, as well as giving players a taste of how the weapon creation will work for the game. Case Zero also broke records for sales on XBLA in the first week, and has kept fans sated until Dead Rising 2's retail release in 2 weeks.

Another co-op Scooby-Doo game has twinkle-toed up behind us - Scooby-Doo! and the Spooky Swamp is available today, and features some slick two-player offline co-op for the Nintendo Wii.

It just so happens that a certain game is in stores today, one that promises to be the be-all, end-all for co-op support. We're talking splitscreen...online...splitscreen online...matchmaking...persistent stats...you name it. Another goliath franchise - a direct competitor, in fact - drops its latest version into laps everywhere starting on November 9th, and it's making some interesting trades.

Timegate Studios have announced a sequel to last year's popular multiplayer shooter, Section 8.  Kat reviewed the title in our Beyond Co-Op series giving it high marks, but disappointed for the lack of co-op.  The new game, called Section 8 Prejudice, looks to fix many of the faults with the original by adding improved matchmaking, a fleshed out single player experience, and best of all - co-op!

We've been keeping a watchful on eye Monaco: What's yours is Mine for some time now.  The four player co-op "crime caper" title has players working together to steal some loot - each person taking the role of a unique class.  The classes each of abilities that support the other players, so team work is key!

The latest Madden NFL '11 title update has brought a nice throwback in the controls for the Madden fans in the room, and a lot of general tweaks and fixes for the rest of us. First on the list is the return to classic madden controls, followed closely by camera improvements, team jersey fixes, among a whole long list of other fixes.

Looking back over the years of fantasy quest games, such as Dragon Age, and the Elder Scrolls games - these have been largely single player experiences save for some gigantic MMO’s. The new team working on the Neverwinter game hopes to take that same epic world feel, and turn it into a co-op game - not an MMO like some may think.

It's finally here. Halo Reach. The Halo game we've all been waiting for. The reviews are in and it's good...very good. To celebrate this momentus launch we'ere getting together a co-op night. Not just any co-op night, one that focuses on both Campaign Co-Op and Firefight!

Today marks the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest video games ever: Super Mario Bros.  Released in Japan on September 13, 1985, the title would go on to become an undisputed classic, popularizing the platformer as a genre, and making Mario into a brand-defining superstar.  Though Super Mario Bros. lacked co-op, it's predecessor, plain old Mario Bros., did have a primitive form of co-op, and is one of the earliest co-op games in our database.
