Finnish developer Frozenbyte is moving away from their puzzle-platformer wheelhouse (Trine) with their next co-op title, though there appears to be a little bit of a tie-in. The Nine Parchments will follow four wizards of the Astral Academy who are attempting to circumvent the long process required to master titular scrolls in favor of a more direct approach.
Just as they did last year with the "Legendary Edition," Bungie will be releasing a special edition of Destiny that will package all of the game's content together in one neat little package. Titled "Destiny - The Collection," the set will include the forthcoming Rise of Iron DLC as well as all the base game and all previously released content.
Tripwire Interactive's Killing Floor 2, which has been in Early Access on Steam for about the past year and a half, will see a full release this fall. The cooperative zombie killing FPS will be available on PC and PlayStation 4 on November 18, 2016.
After the events of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, I didn't think the game series could get any weirder. Turns out, it can. Konami revealed Metal Gear Survive at Gamescom today, a four-player cooperative action title that takes place in an alternate universe after you get sucked through a wormhole... Yep.
We're getting caught up on a few stories here and there, so apologies for the late posting. In case you missed Major Nelson's blog post last week, Shank 2 is the latest title to be added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility List.
The United States isn't the only place for video games related events. Gamescom kicks off today in Cologne, Germany, and the development team behind Farming Simulator 17 brought a new video with them that shows off some of the new features of the game.
Ubisoft is continuing their 30th anniversary celebrations this month by giving everyone Rayman Origins for free! All you have to do is launch the Uplay application on your PC, click over to the "Ubi 30" tab, and claim it.
The remastered versions of Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will be hitting the PlayStation and Xbox store next month for the current gen consoles. The digital versions will be available prior to the retail disc versions, which will be available a little later.
Between its history, artstyle, and title, Brut@l is a unique game. With these features, it’s certainly a head-turner, but initial impressions can only get a game so far. As a rogue-like (in a time where gamers are flooded with rogue-likes), it needs to impress mechanically. It has to be addicting, egging the player to play one more level, or ...
I'll be honest, I don't know a ton about the actual U.S.S.R. It seemed like it turned out okay for some folks and really, really badly for others. Overall, though, I can certainly think of worse places to spend a few years.
One of my favorite local co-op titles is the physics-based platformer, Chariot. It had all the elements of a good couch game: charming characters, easy to learn controls, and chaotic fun waiting to happen. Therefore, I'm very interested to see what Frima Studios is able to pull off later this month when their next title, Talent Not Included, arrives on PC.
Harebrained Schemes' cooperative rogue-like Necropolis made its debut on the PC last month, and the initial reception was rather mixed. The developer listened to all of this feedback and came up with a plan to address it over the course of the next few months. The latest patch hit a couple weeks back, but there's more in store before the console release.
