Oh man. That guy looks really mad.

The Patriarch Returns to Killing Floor 2

Sure, any fool can snatch an AK-47 and headshot an entire football stadium's worth of ZEDs in Killing Floor 2, but one word is enough to bring any clone-hunter to their knees: Patriarch. Yes, even the most stalwart Killer of Floors starts sobbing up a storm when they hear the big bad daddy of all zombie/clones tromping down the hall. KF2 initially launched with his spindly German buddy as a primary antagonist, who was not the rocket-launcher toting bullet sponge of his predecessor.

Cosmetic items only for now

Microtransactions Added to Killing Floor 2

Developer Tripwire Interactive announced last week that Killing Floor 2 will include microtransactions via a special in-game store called "The Trading Floor." While playing through a match, players may find an encrypted crate or USB stick that contains a new weapon skin or other cosmetic item. By heading over to the Trading Floor, players can purchase a decryption key that will decrypt these items and relinquish their contents unto you.

Promises of better communication and participation going forward

Overkill Offers Apology to its Community

Last month, Overkill kicked off their big Crimefest 2015 event with the introduction of a new feature for PAYDAY 2: microtransactions. The reaction to this was... not great. A few weeks went by with not much of a response from Overkill, and then Update 90 arrived and added more fuel to the fire. Now, the development team has come forward to apologize.

In the States, the end of November marks the occasion for two things: the consumption of way too much food, and SALES SALES SALES! There are some choice Cyber Monday deals underway right now, but Microsoft offered up a few deals of their own on the digital versions of games like DestinyEvolveDark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime last week, and today is the last day you can enjoy them.

Left 4 Dead meets arcade

Co-Op Arcade Shooter Cyborg Rage Kicks Off Beta This Weekend

There are some co-op concepts I can get behind. Like the horde/director mechanics behind games like Left 4 Dead and Warhammer 40k: End Times - Vermintide. Developer Ragiva Games is taking those concepts and applying them to their side-scrolling arcade shooter, Cyborg Rage. If you're interested in checking out what that looks like, then you'll get your chance this weekend.

Send everyone to their deaths in a brand new historical period!

Total War: Attila Goes Medieval With Charlemagne Expansion

The team down at Creative Assembly must have a grim view on history. They've spent the better part of a decade and a half chronicling mankind's legacy as one giant brawling bloodbath, and probably won't stop until every notable period is steeped in gore. They couldn't handle the gap between the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages being free of strife, so they made Total War: Attila to prove that even in the 5th Century you could still hurl hundreds of dudes to their heavy cavalry-related deaths with relative ambivalence. Now they've closed that gap even further with the announcement of Attila's first expansion: The Age of Charlemagne, out December 10th.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Co-Op Review

The Call of Duty franchise has been a weird entity in my eyes. It is one of the largest franchises of the past decade, yet it bounces back and forth between development studios with each installment into the series. This results in an uneven experience from game to game with slight changes in the campaign structure, weapon feel, and character movem...
