A co-op jewel of the last few years is making one of the least surprising moves possible.  Asteroid Base's fantastic title, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, will be available on the Nintendo Switch starting October 3rd.

There comes a time every month when the PlayStation Prophets venture down from their floating enclave and deliver free games unto their followers, the PlayStation Plus subscribers.  As it just so happens, that time was earlier today, and one of those free games is quite the gem.

As one month ends, another must inevitably start and with the fluttering of used calendar pages to the floor, each month brings with it a new stash of Games with Gold.  In February, Xbox One owners with a Gold subscription can enjoy the 4 player co-op wonder that is Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

Space is such a stressful place.  When you're hurtling through the infinite void and encountering who-knows-what every half hour, odds are pretty good that things will eventually get dicey.  That's why you need a partner, someone to stick by your side no matter who you piss off or how many alien chainsaw guns you have to dodge.  Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime crystalizes this idea in game form, giving you and a galactic comrade the chance to guide your circular spacecraft through somehow increasingly dangerous situations.

A fair amount of time of Microsoft's press conference at this year's E3 was spent basically stating "we've got indie games!" One of those games is Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, a Co-Optimus staff favorite when we saw it last year being demo'd for the PC, and which is now confirmed as coming to the Xbox One through the ID@XBox program.

We saw Lovers In a Dangerous Spacetime at E3 2013 this year and, well frankly, we fell in love with it so much we nominated it for a Co-Op Game of Show award. The game is still in active development for PC with a release date sometime later this year, but two new screens have surfaced exciting us for what's to come.

Our indie darling of E3 2013 was by far Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. We already wrote a detailed preview earlier in the show, but we loved the game so much, we felt we needed to go back and talk to Jamie Tucker and Adam Winkels of developer Asteroid Base.

IndieCade had a pretty large establishment at this year's E3 2013 with one of the bigger booths in the South Hall. The event is actually held in Culver City later this year, but the folks from IndieCade wanted to showcase some of the more popular and polished submissions to E3 attendees. While digging through the troves of indie games we found a little couch co-op gem called Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.
