Not to be outdone by this year's smash hit and direct competitor Halo: Reach, Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops is being outfitted with a similar credit system that will allow players to purchase perks (Call of Duty modifiers), weapons, and cosmetic changes. Fans of customization - like myself - will find delight in an array of gun skins, facepaint patterns, custom red dot reticles, and an emblem generator a la Army of Two: The 40th Day.
Every year during the fall season the biggest names in games from the previous year like to launch a special bundle of their title called the Game of the Year Edition. These typically include bonuses, dlc, patches and more rolled into one disc for a nice discount.
Bad news, everyone! By bad news I mean that Harmonix has announced that the Rock Band 3 Keyboard bundle will not be available in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico, and by everyone I mean North American PlayStation 3 owners. In an official statement the developer says the PS3 SKU will "not be available...due to the agreement terms for the region." Read on for the full statement.
Ahh, Killzone 3. The on again co-op, off again co-op game coming next year. Currently we're in the "off again" state - and if the comments by the game's producer Steven Ter Heide are anything to go by - that's the way it's going to stay. At least we think.

A few days ago we brought you details and box art from the new Left 4 Dead DLC, The Sacrifice. The original survivors return in this prequel to Left 4 Dead 2's The Passing, which was released earlier this year. The trailer is out now, and it looks like The Sacrifice will be serious business indeed.
IIt's October, so Halloween is just around the corner. All manner of kids dressed in costumes will be showing up at your door soon. Many of the games the staff are playing this weekend make great costumes: Spider-Man, Zombies, Cowboys, and of course, Spartans. Which begs a question: what kind of candy would Noble 6 like the best?

In what is purely a marketing move, and one that's not all that surprising, Microsoft has delayed Gears of War 3's launch from Spring 2011 to Fall 2011. According to the statement from Microsoft they wanted to make Gears 3 their marquee title for next year's holiday lineup.
The achievements and trophies for Call of Duty: Black Ops have been revealed and there appears to be one more game more that we haven't heard about yet to go alongside the campaign and versus modes as well as the co-op modes - combat training and zombies.
