Core systems get an overhaul in anticipation of open beta later this month

Seeking the Horizon Update Drops Today for Dauntless

Dauntless, the free-to-play action-RPG with some nods towards Monster Hunter, is set to hit its Open Beta later this month on May 24. Prior to that date when anybody and everybody can get in, developer Phoenix Labs is dropping a major update to the game today, and it's a pretty substantial one. Dubbed "Seeking the Horizon," this update includes an overhaul of some existing systems (like progression and gear), and an expansion upon others (like available quests).

LEGO: The Incredibles Trailer Flaunts Family's Powers

It's a shame that its taken the world's most imaginative toy this long to collaborate with Pixar's most imaginative film. Perhaps not enough to warrant its own chapter in the Big Book of Video Game Crimes, but it might be in the appendices. Thankfully, LEGO: The Incredibles has a new trailer to whet the appetite of superpowered families everywhere.

Prepare to Die will be replaced in the store altogether

Dark Souls: Remastered on PC Will Be Half Price for Existing Owners

If you've already taken the plunge into the world of Dark Souls on the PC via the "Prepare to Die Edition," then there's some good news. When Dark Souls: Remastered launches on May 25, you'll be able to buy it at a 50% discount. Not quite as good as a free update, but better than nothing, I suppose.

Our Weekend In Gaming: ThiccBot

It looks like the theme (if you can call it that) of varied choices is continuing, as hardly any of the Co-Opticrew are playing the same title over the next couple days.  Of course, the allure of slow, dense, hyper-tactical mech warfare was always going to be too much to resist, so the new Battletech title makes the only repeat appearance of the weekend.  Good luck to Nick and Locke.  May your hulls never dent and your engines remain cool.
